Lead Registered Dental Assistant - Mobile

The Mobile clinic Lead Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in the direct provision of dental services to patients of the Mobile Clinic. The Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for the day to day activities and work flow of the dental department, including performing general administrative duties such as coordinating assistant schedules/chair assignments, sterilization schedules, equipment maintenance and supply/inventory schedules. The Lead RDA is also responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients of the Mobile Unit.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and monitor the day to day workflow of the dental assistants.
- Maintain smooth work flow between dentists, assistants, and patients.
- Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments in operatory for patient treatment.
- Train, and provide orientation of new dental assistant staff.
- Maintain adequate operatory supplies and compile a list for inventory control and ordering purposes.
- Manage daily sterilization of instruments and maintain appropriate logs.
- Inspect, test and log autoclave systems and eye wash systems.
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of autoclave systems via spore testing and other biological testing, as designated.
- Ensure clinical staff are in compliance with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
- Operate x-ray equipment to perform dental radiographic procedures.
- Perform mouth-mirror inspection of the oral cavity, to include charting of obvious lesions, existing restorations, and missing teeth.
- Provide chair side assistance to the dentist and hygienist, as needed, in the concept of four handed dentistry
- Under direct supervision of the dentist, perform procedures such as fabrication of temporary crowns intra-orally; temporary cementation and removal of temporary crowns and removal of orthodontic bands; coronal polishing; and placement of post-extraction and periodontal dressings in accordance with state regulations and law.
- Maintain dental equipment and work areas in compliance with health center policies and procedures relative to infection control and safety issues, including the sterilization of all reusable dental instruments and equipment and the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials.
- Maintain and oversees mobile unit maintenance
- Drives the mobile unit and manages other mobile unit drivers to ensure they are driving in a safe and compliant manner.
- Responsible for providing a daily staffing and workflow report to the Mobile Manager.
- Maintain patient confidentiality through Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from a California Board-approved RDA education program.
- Current California Registered Dental Assistant License
- Valid California Driver's License, current auto insurance, and clean driving record
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification Infection Control Certificate
- Must complete Mobile Unit RV Driver training within six months of hire.
- Three (3) years’ experience working as a Registered Dental Assistant in a high volume dental practice
- Familiarity with dental terminology, instruments, materials and medications used during dental procedures.
- Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of health care delivery.
- Availability to work outside of normal shifts (e.g., 8am to 5pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Word, and with electronic health record data entry.
- Associate’s degree in a healthcare related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

The pay range for this role is $30.12 to 43.67 on an hourly basis.

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
